A couple of friendly reminders :)

Special Lunch Order Day is coming up next Wednesday 17th June. order forms need to be returned or online orders need to be placed by this Friday 12th June.

 

Student Learning Conferences will be held on Tuesday 23^rd and Wednesday 24^th of June. If you haven’t already, please logon to the website to book a time or see your child’s classroom teacher.

Special Visitors Day is coming up on Thursday 25^th of June from 2:30-3:30. Please keep your eyes peeled for more information!

WE CAN BE INDEPENDENT!

With semester 1 coming to a close our Preps are almost half way through their first year at school!

Now that the students know the routine of school we are encouraging more independence – both in the morning & throughout the day.

Students are encouraged to carry their own bag in and organise themselves for the day ahead.

They are encouraged to work independently for longer periods throughout the day & be a problem solver when they are unsure.

We are very proud of how far they have come so far & know they can continue to grow as independent individuals J

Reading Keys

Please find below a slideshow with the key reading strategies we are teaching our Preps.
Feel free to use these prompts when reading with your child at home.
Continue to work through your M100W but remember that each child works at their own pace.

 

Lately the Preps' have been busy “subitising”. This is when you know how many there are in a group without having to count one by one. Please find below a short clip that students can view to practise learning how to “look fast with my eyes – I know how to subitise” Enjoy!

Book Fair

Each year lara primary school hosts a book fair

Our book fair begins next Monday 16^th march and runs until the next Monday

it is open before & after school

This is a wonderful fundraiser for our school  so please check it out J

Reminders

Hello parents/carers,

A reminder that if you haven't already done so could you please hop online and book in a time for a Student Learning Conference. These will be held on Wednesday 4th March and Thursday 5th of March. For more information please see the school website.

Also a reminder that if you would like to help out in your child's classroom you need to attend a Classroom Helpers Session. These will be held next Tuesday 24th February at 9:10am and 2:30pm.
